Dr. Matthew Brennecke ND
Matthew Brennecke ND, MSSW is a registered naturopathic doctor in the state of Colorado, who received his doctorate from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, AZ. He has always had a very strong interest in medicine, with his mother being a registered nurse, but felt that medications were being over prescribed. He started his college career as a biology student interested in medicine, but after realizing a few close friends were having mental health issues, he decided to pursue social work with the idea that he could have a larger impact on people than he could being a physician. Matthew earned his BSW from Colorado State University and then his Masters in Science in Social Work with an emphasis on severe and persistent mental illness from Columbia University in the City of New York. After graduating, his mother introduced him to naturopathic medicine where he felt he could integrate both his passion for medicine along with his extensive education in mental health.
Matthew really found a love of nutrition and functional medicine while studying in Arizona. He maintains a family practice focused on building and creating a sturdy functional foundation in which to build optimal health upon. He has a strong interest in digestive issues, men’s health, allergies, skin conditions, general fatigue, weight loss, and mental health. He really has a passion for teaching his patients to the point that they understand what’s going on with their body.
Matthew is originally from Seattle, but has lived all over the country. It wasn’t until he moved to Colorado that he knew he had found his place. He has a real passion for nature and if he could, he’d spend all of his time outside in the mountains. In his free time, he loves to go camping, climb mountains, and spent time with his father, two dogs, and two cats.
