FAQs

Questions people ask before they call

If your question is not here, our wellness specialist will answer it in a few minutes on the phone, no appointment needed to ask.

Getting Started

  • How do I become a patient?

Call us, text us, email us, or submit the form on our contact page. Our wellness coordinator takes it from there.

  • How soon can I be seen?

Most new patients are seen within days of getting in touch.

  • Do I need a referral?

No. You do not need a referral from another provider to be seen here.

  • Do I have to start with the Comprehensive Assessment?

It is what we typically recommend: the Wholeness Comprehensive Assessment gives your team the fullest picture before care begins. You can also start with a new patient intake instead. Our wellness coordinator will help you decide which one fits your situation.

  • What should I bring to the first visit?

Yourself, and a copy of your insurance card if you have one. You will also sign all the necessary consents at that visit.

Cost and Payment

  • How do I get an exact price?

Speak to a Wellness Coordinator. They will go through what you need and give you an exact quote before you commit to anything.

  • Are there extra costs beyond the visit?

What you pay depends on the services in your plan, and we may be able to take your insurance. A Wellness Coordinator can confirm both before you begin.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

New patients must cancel at least 48 hours before the appointment time; returning patients, at least 24 hours. A late cancellation is charged at 50% of the rate, and a no show at 100%.

  • What insurance plans do you accept?

We are currently in-network with CO Medicaid, Aetna, Evernorth/Cigna, Carelon/BCBS, First Choice Health Network, ComPsych, and United/Optum. We can also work with many other insurance providers, even if we are not currently in-network. Please contact us to confirm your specific coverage.

How Care Works Here

  • Will I see more than one practitioner?

That depends on your needs and goals. You may work with one primary provider or with several members of our team across psychiatry, functional medicine, psychotherapy, and brain-based care. When multiple providers are involved, they collaborate so your care remains coordinated.

  • Do I have to stop my current medication?

No. We will review what you are taking, what has helped, and any side effects or concerns you may have. Medication changes are made thoughtfully and only when clinically appropriate. You should not stop psychiatric medication without guidance from your prescribing provider.

  • Can I be treated without medication?

Yes. Medication is one option, not a requirement for every patient. Depending on your needs, care may include functional medicine, nutritional and lifestyle support, psychotherapy, neurofeedback, TMS, neuromodulation, mindfulness, and other non-medication approaches.

  • Can I receive care through telehealth?

Many appointments can be completed through telehealth, depending on your location, the service you need, and provider licensing requirements in your state. Some services, including qEEG brain mapping and certain interventional treatments, require in-person care. Our team can help you determine what is available before you begin.

  • Do you see children and adolescents?

Yes. We care for children and adolescents. Our pediatric team may include child and adolescent psychiatry, functional medicine, psychotherapy, and brain-based care, based on your child’s individual needs.

  • What if you are not the right clinic for me?

We will be honest about whether our services fit your needs. If another provider, specialist, or level of care would serve you better, we will help direct you toward the appropriate next step whenever possible.

Records and Privacy

  • How do I get my records?

Make a request through your patient portal, or email admissions@wholeness.com.
