Certified Biofeedback Therapist
I am a board certified Biofeedback Therapist (BCIAC). I teach self regulation and relaxation techniques using the technology of biofeedback. I focus on helping individuals coping with the following: Stress & Anxiety, Panic, Headaches, Migraines, TMJ/Jaw Pain, Insomnia, Chronic Pain, Hypertension, and other Stress Related Disorders.
Biofeedback is a therapy in which individuals are taught to improve their health by using information from their bodies. Precise instruments measure body processes such as heart rate, muscle tension, finger temperature, respiration, sweat gland activity. These instruments then “feed back” real-time signals to the user, which become the basis for the individual learning self regulation skills and the ability to change their body’s physiology.
In my practice, I incorporate stress management and relaxation techniques, which can then be practiced at home. Biofeedback is a very empowering type of treatment, as individuals initiate changes in their body to create healing. Patients learn tools to self regulate, which they can continue to use their whole life. My goal is to empower you to control your body’s physiology, leading to a more relaxed, healthy and happy life.
I am also a Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT) and love the practice and benefits that yoga offers. Because I also enjoying working with groups, you’ll find me teaching stress management, aromatherapy, and yoga and relaxation classes at the clinic.
When I’m not at the clinic, I can be found gardening, mountain biking, practicing yoga, cooking local organic foods and spending time in nature with my husband, Joel.
