Dr. Cori Ann Ramirez

My decision to become a child psychologist crystallized after taking a course in general psychology as an undergraduate in college. I have always been interested in how biology, psychology, behavior and social factors are linked together to influence health and wellness, particularly in children and adolescents. Growing up in a family with eight siblings, I also understand the importance of relationships and I value working with parents and families to fully understand where my support may best be utilized.

As a child psychologist, my focus with the Wholeness Center includes supporting families through providing a full continuum of assessment and evaluation options for children and teens. A comprehensive evaluation is an invaluable resource in providing families and schools with a plan that will best support the needs of the child. I have 15 years of extensive experience working in clinical settings as well as within the public schools. In addition, I have experience in evaluating educational, cognitive, developmental and social/emotional concerns. It is important to me that I work collaboratively with you and other professionals in meeting your needs. My strength lies in the ability to integrate information from a variety of sources in order to provide you and your family with the best possible evaluation and recommendations that will facilitate you in reaching your full potential.

I am also available to support children, adolescents and families through providing short-term therapeutic intervention. I have extensive experience with treating children and adolescents in both clinical and educational settings. My experience includes working with anxiety (including separation anxiety and school phobia); depression and mood disorders; attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder; oppositional defiant disorder and conduct disorder; pervasive developmental disorders including autism and asperger’s disorder; and learning disabilities. My goal in treatment is to help equip the child, adolescent and/or parents with the tools to understand and manage the thoughts, feelings and behavior that are preventing you from leading a happy, successful life. My focus is on the whole child and I will work collaboratively with you to ensure success at home, school and in the community.

I was born and raised in Park City, Utah and moved to Fort Collins in 1989 to attend Colorado State University. I fell in love with Fort Collins and am blessed to live in this community and raise my family. I have been married for 18 years to my husband, Rick, and we have four amazing boys-Bennett, Frankie, Luke and Coleon. I love to travel, ski, play tennis, and spend time outdoors. In addition, my life is so rich watching my boys grow up and be involved in soccer, music, basketball, football, track, swimming, choir and performing.
