Collaborative Health Care
At Wholeness Center, we strongly believe that all people are whole, complex, and unique. We also honor the unity of body, mind, and spirit and focus on ways to best integrate each part in our treatment process. As you have probably experienced, modern healthcare tends to divide body from mind, while ignoring the power of nutrition, lifestyle and spirituality. Here, we strive to provide the highest quality of collaborative care in order to best meet all your needs.
What is Unique About Collaborative Care?
Under our roof, we have a variety of highly qualified practitioners from many
educational and treatment areas: psychiatrists, naturopathic physicians, individual
and family therapists, acupuncturists, a nurse practitioner, a physician assistant, and
yoga and biofeedback trainers. Together, we constitute an effective team that shares
information, ideas, and creates synergy. This collaborative care sets us apart from other
health programs and doctors’ offices by allowing us to reduce the need for psychiatric
medications and emphasize the body’s innate ability to heal itself.
What is Collaborative Care Process?
We start our collaborative care process by evaluating each new person seeking
psychiatric evaluation as a team: one psychiatrist and one naturopathic physician. During
the initial assessments, we do our best to get to know you and that which matters in your
life, so that we can get a comprehensive picture which covers mind, body and spirit. The
psychiatric evaluation provides a strong overview of the mental, emotional, and social
issues at hand. The naturopathic evaluation focuses in on the diet, nutrition, and lifestyle
issues typically ignored by most conventional physicians.
Utilizing this comprehensive assessment facilitates our understanding of specific
obstacles that keep you from reaching your wellness goals, as well as helping us to best
design an individualized plan of care to support you on your healing journey. This plan
is presented to you within two weeks of your visit, and includes a review of all lab tests.
As we strive for a holistic treatment model, this plan might also include professional
recommendations with regards to seeking therapy, acupuncture, biofeedback, or any
other adjunct treatments.
We understand and honor your will and personal commitment to reach your optimal
health through whichever path you find as your best fit. Although we encourage
collaborative care and have plans specifically designed to fit this model, all of the
Wholeness Center practitioners are able and willing to provide services independently
as you desire. We are here to provide high quality, supportive care and are excited to be
given the honor to join you on your journey to true health.
